MargaiWe are very saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Dr. Florence Margai, SUNY, Binghamton and National Councilor of the AAG (January 8, 2015).

Florence was Professor of Geography, and Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, Student Success and Faculty Development: Harpur College of Arts and Sciences; Binghamton University-SUNY.  She received her Ph.D. from Kent State University, 1991, M.A. from Kent State University,1987) and her B.A. Honors in Geography from Fourah Bay College, USL, in 1985.

This is a tragic loss for her family, the profession and our Region.

A memorial session in honor of Florence will be held at the upcoming AAG Annual Meeting in Chicago.
